Abstract

In this paper, we seek to extend the phonological analysis of the allophonic realizations of the phonemes /ʝ/̞ or /ʒ/. The novelty of this work lies in the fact that we will consider here postpausal realizations, not described so far, and the influence of three linguistic factors: a) the point of articulation of the previous vowel in intervocalic realizations of /ʝ/̞ or /ʒ/, b) the tonicity of the syllable where the allophone of /ʝ/̞ or /ʒ/ is articulated in intervocalic and postpausal realizations (stressed vs. unstressed syllables), and c) the previous context, analyzing intervocalic vs. postpausal realizations in order to determine the convenience of their comparison.
